My First Laptop

Before finishing my exams, I got my first laptop. It’s actually given by my brother.
The brand is Compaq Presario C700. It’s a very nice laptop with wide 15.4″ screen. Well, I am very thankful to have one =) At least, It makes me convenient and no longer using the big desktop. So far, I haven’t really install any useful functions besides Bible, Dictionary and Winamp.
I highly recommend everyone install Google Picasa 3 and Google desktop as well. Basically, Google Picasa 3 is something like simple photo shop. You can edit photos easily by using it. Very good for beginner.
Google Desktop works like the the sidebar tab in Windows Vista. There are more than 100 applications you can put. Totally useful indeed.
However, one of the drawback so far I notice is the battery life. Not too bad though.

Compaq is cool.
Keyboard is user-friendly. As stated above, It looks handsome. Hehe.

Lastly, I support Windows. Haha.
I really feel contented of having one laptop like this. So far, I don’t need an Apple Mac.

monitor cannot bring here and there, but laptop can …. your laptop processor is Core 2 Duo? Or AMD de?

Gratz on getting your own Lappie ^^ and 17″ is huge.. gosh sure very syok when watching movie 1..
Oyah, Words of advice.. go and burn all your drivers into a CD.. you might need it someday

Cool. Still remember getting my first notebook. A 12″ plus notebook that lasted me 5 years, Compaq too. Paid over 5k for it then. Never went back to desktop but the lappy are for business use.

Well, I’ve been using Compaq since 2002. The first one went kaput after 4 years. I think I overcharged the battery too often, so hard disk died, power couldn’t even turn on. I bought another Compaq last year. Still using and loving it… just take care of the battery and the LCD brightness, and it will serve you loyally for 5 years at least.
